Cheryl has combined professional experience of more than 30 years in both the mortgage and real estate sales industries. Her experience includes ownership of a mortgage brokerage company for eleven years in Colorado Springs, a wholesale sales representative and retail mortgage loan origination.
She is also an instructor, teaching professional standards and mortgage principles, for students in the mortgage and real estate industries for the last decade. Cheryl is currently an instructor with Mortgage Training Institiute and teaches throughout the state. In previous years she was an instructor for Partners in Housing's First Time-Homebuyer classes.
Cheryl is recognized as an industry leader as past president of the Colorado Association of Mortgage Brokers (CAMB) in 1998 and 2004, and is currently President–Elect of the Pikes Peak Women’s Council of Realtors. She previously served as Chair of the VA/FHA/Affordable Housing Committee for the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB).
In 2007 Cheryl was appointed by Erin Toll, the Director of the Real Estate Division to serve on the Mortgage Broker Education Task Force. As a member of the task force she assisted the Division in clarifying and interpreting the new mortgage broker laws enacted in 2006.
Active in her community, Cheryl served on the Business Development Committee for the University of Colorado Springs CU Aging Center and has recently been appointed as the Regional Volunteer Coordinator for the national Lewy Body Dementia Association. This year Cheryl was elected to serve on the Regional Advisory Council of the Area Agency on Aging, Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments for a 4 year term.
